	      <description><![CDATA[<img src="/images/sized/images/uploads/Nike_RAS_01-500x281.jpg" width="500" alt="Nike Reuse-a-Shoe primary image" /><p>Our latest challenge from the good folk at Nike was to create a charming motion piece to increase awareness of their impressive Reuse-a-Shoe initiative and it's process.</p>Nike Reuse-a-Shoe takes worn out athletic shoes and grinds them down to create a new material called Nike Grind, which is used to make high-quality sports surfaces including courts, turf fields, tracks and more.<br />

	      <description><![CDATA[<img src="/images/sized/images/uploads/4seven_ID_Allot_720-500x282.jpg" width="500" alt="4seven primary image" /><p>4creative appointed ManvsMachine to create a cohesive on & off air package for new channel 4seven, that would sit comfortably as part of the Channel4 family. </p>ManvsMachine worked alongside 4creative to create an on-screen identity which uses a distinctive corner wrap concept across the package. This corner approach creates a visual signature style akin to the Channel4 coming together of the logo, where the viewer is always travelling around a corner from left to right. This holds all the elements together creating a set of idents which result in a logic defying scene, reminiscent of M.C Escher. These idents feature a custom camera technique created by ManvsMachine where regular scenes are given an irregular treatment. It was vital the set retained the Channel4 feeling of everyday locations whilst being very much its own channel. <br />
<br />
The graphic elements take the brand into three dimensions with a reactive seven which reflects the amount of 'buzz' around programming throughout the day. This is combined with a clever touch of a time intelligent OSP where the channel branding gets darker as the day goes on, all graphics adjust as night sets in and the content changes accordingly. <br />

The package aligns with a re-focussed range of content on the channel.</p>The re-brand is centred round a bold, flexible logo that morphs through a series of flips, folds and reveals. The colour palette reflects the vibrant nature of interiors, food culture, fashion and other contemporary lifestyle programming.<br />
<br />
Live-action idents see the brand break out into the real world in the form of mechanical 'flippers'. The installations inhabit environments from a domestic staircase to an abandoned fishing boat in Dungeness. To achieve this ManvsMachine teamed up with installation design pioneers, Jason Bruges Studio, to help design and build a flexible system consisting of over 400 individual flipper units.<br />

The brief encouraged us to explore the limits of the 'connection' narrative associated with the iconic Nokia 'hands' sequence.</p>In keeping with the super-clean form of the button free N9 handset, the final animation brings the display to life with a minimum of fuss, with tactile fluid ripples attracting to the Nokia logotype.<br />

The characters were designed with one eye on versatility for future uses both on and off screen and we're looking forward to taking these little guys on all sort of adventures as the brand rolls out. 	      <description><![CDATA[<img src="/images/sized/images/uploads/photoperiod-500x281.jpg" width="500" alt="Photoperiod Piccadilly primary image" /><p>Rupert Burton is the most recent recruitment to the ManvsMachine studio, &#8216;Photoperiod Piccadilly&#8217; was his Masters Degree film at UAL.</p>

<p>Documenting a single day in Piccadilly Circus the film uses 24 sequential HDRI to show the fluctuating intensities of environmental light. Every hour the surrounding light was captured and recorded (Lux value), using this to illuminate a virtual dynamic wavelength and photographic light meter. As a point of departure the film creates a dialogue between natural and artificial light, connecting photographic processes with computer generated images.</p>

	      <description><![CDATA[<img src="/images/sized/images/uploads/sines1-500x281.jpg" width="500" alt="Sun, Sea &amp; Sines primary image" /><p>We were invited be a guest speaker/artist at Sines Digital 2010, an annual event that aims to promote and foster digital art, through the international meeting of creatives, geared to show new trends and art projects, focusing on contact and sharing knowledge. </p>

<p>The event takes place annually in Sines (Portugal) during the first week of June. This years diverse line-up also included Postpanic, Seed Studios, Tavo, Si Scott &amp; António Cerveira Pinto.</p>

In keeping with the programming and presenting style there is a slightly suggestive undertone running throughout.<br />

On-screen presentation graphics mimic instant messaging in both look and it's spontaneous 'pop-up' functionality.<br />
